PARTY PLANNING MADE EASY

PARTY PLANNING MADE EASY

If you love the fun of hosting a party but despise the stress which inevitably leads up to the big day, here are a few tips on simplifying things! Use these ideas to help smooth the bumps along the way and make sure you can enjoy the entire process of party planning.

Plan At a Pace

Don’t wait for the week-of to plan everything out. Start earlier than you think you’ll need to so you have plenty of time for the final details. Handle one item a day so you can really enjoy what’s fun about having a party.

Invite Early

You don’t need all the details planned in order to send out invitations, which means you can send them out well in advance. Choose a day and time that you think will best suit the group you’re inviting and be prepared to tweak things as you get responses back. Set an RSVP date at least 2 weeks ahead of time so you can be prepared for any necessary changes without rushing.

Use What You Know

You might be tempted to try something new for this next gathering, something to switch it up a little. And that’s totally understandable. However, new recipes, decorations, or entertainment have the potential to go terribly wrong. If you have something you’d like to try make sure you test it out ahead of time. If it’s a recipe be sure to have a few taste testers tell you what they honestly think!

Prep the Day Before

As much as possible, prepare things the day before the event. When you plan the food menu do your best to include things that could be made the day before and either refrigerated or simply heated up before company arrives. Consider laying the food out buffet style so guests can get food at their own pace and you can actually enjoy socializing.

Ask For Help

At the end of the day, there is only so much one person can do. If you’re concerned about having everything ready in time feel free to ask for help! If a friend has a better design eye, ask her to decorate. If you know a really good cook, ask them to bring a favorite dish to share. Just because you’re throwing the party doesn’t mean you have to be the one to tackle all the details!
