No matter where you live, Winter is not known for its fantastic weather. Add on the stress of the holidays and breaks from school, everyone in the house could use some fun while stuck indoors. As long as you have balloons — you’ll have excitement for everyone in no time!

 

BALLOON TENNIS

Make tennis racquets using paper plates and craft sticks, blow up a few balloons and once you’ve cleared a safe space for a “court”, let the games begin! It can be a free-for-all or you could set up an official tournament to raise the stakes.

Supplies: craft sticks, paper plates, balloons

 

SPOON RACE

This spoon race replaces the classic spoons and eggs with large wooden spoons and balloons. Who doesn’t love a no-mess game? Set up a start and finish line. Give each player a large wooden spoon with an inflated balloon on top. Start the race and see who can cross the finish line managing to keep their balloon on the spoon!

Supplies: large wooden spoons, balloons

 

BALLOON HOCKEY

Set a box in the middle of the floor and surround it with inflated balloons as “pucks”. The goal is to be the one to get the most balloons in the box and the only rule is you can’t use your hands!

Supplies: pool noodles, balloons, a box

 

RACE TO THE FINISH

Have the players form two parallel lines. Choose one end of each line to be the start. The first person in line gets a balloons to pass to the following person, under their legs. The next player must pass the balloon over their head. Repeat the pattern to the end of the line. Whichever lines finishes first is the winner! Play a few rounds and see if you can beat a time record!

Supplies: 2 balloons

 

HOT POTATO

Rounding out the list with a classic. All players stand in a circle while one person holds the balloon. As the music starts, pass the balloon to each players as quickly as possible. When the music stops whoever is holding the balloon is out. Play until there’s only one left standing!

Supplies: 1 balloon
